Original Compositions for Choir and Concert Band
I have broken my scores down into 3 groups:
- Christmas carol (sacred) settings
- Service music (in the Anglo-Catholic tradition)
- Concert band
All of my scores are in the public domain and therefore free to use. Please email me if you have questions or are interested in performing any of them. Commissions are also welcome. Additional settings will be added in 2020. Unless otherwise indicated:
- Scores are in 8.5″ x 11″ PDF black-and-white format.
- Manuscripts are generated by computer (either Sibelius or Finale).
- Audio where available is (mostly) generated by a computer.
Sing We the Virgin Mary (2016) ~ SATB + Organ
This song was found in Kentucky c. 1933 by the American composer, singer, and collector of traditional ballads John Jacob Niles.

If Ye Would Hear (2007) ~ SATB a capella
The melody here is original; the words are from the English poet and essayist Dora Greenwell (1821-1882). She devoted much of her life to helping the poor, advancing women’s rights, and advocating for prison reform.
Wexford Carol (1994) ~ SATB + organ
An Irish carol whose origin is described here.
Adam Carol ( 1993) ~ SATB + organ
This is the only one of my scores still in hand-written form.
The Angel Gabriel (1992) ~ SATB + organ
The performance linked below dates from the premiere performance in 1992 by the St Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral (Minneapolis) choir. It has been performed at other churches in Minneapolis and Milwaukee.

Evensong canticles (Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis) 2016 ~ 2-part treble/soprano choir + organ
This is the FIRST of two settings of the “Mag” and “Nunc” — this version being for soprano/treble voices. The Evensong tradition is described here.

Communion Setting in D (2016) ~ SATB + organ
This mass setting includes 4 movements: Gloria, Sanctus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei. Each one is brief and not difficult. A solo male cantor sings the opening phrase of the Gloria and Benedictus.

Concert Band
Orientis Partibus (“From the East”) (2016) ~ Standard modern wind ensemble
The piece was commissioned and performed in 2016 by the Bethel University Wind Symphony and their conductor, Dr. Steven B. Thompson. It was published by Grand Mesa Music in summer 2019.
